after reading shocking article written bret taylor (co-creator of friendfeed; current cto of facebook), how friendfeed uses mysql store schema-less data, began wonder if there best practices using rdbms such oracle, mysql, or postgresql storing , querying schemaless data?

few people admit they're using relational database when nosql new hotness, makes difficult find articles on topic. how implement schemaless (or "document-oriented") database layer on top of relational database?
